Our Classroom Expectations:
Below, I have listed the three rules that students are taught to follow while inside of the gymnasium. They govern everything they do in the gymnasium during physical education class. The rules are simple and all encompassing. Just about anything they do in the gymnasium can be brought back to these three simple rules.
Your child's social and emotional education is just as important as any other aspect of their education and it's something that we work hard on during physical education. We spend the first 3 weeks of school establishing a caring, supporting, empathetic learning environment built on common experiences, while honoring individual differences. This groundwork lays the foundation for learning experiences where students are motivated to succeed, willing to try new things, are challenged and learn from each other throughout the course of the school year.

Reward System:Each physical education class uses squad points as a reward system for "catching" students doing good things. Acts of kindness towards others, providing praise and encouragement, solving problems quickly and fairly, hard work, effort and perseverance are just a few ways to earn a squad point for their color group. This is a nice way to reward those who are following the three rules outlined above.
At the end of each month, a super squad is recognized as the "Super Squad". A certificate of appreciation is awarded to each student in that color group. |
